Katie Conovitz, founder and CEO, thrives off collaborating with clients who are eager to share compelling stories about their brands. After years of working in the fashion, retail and promotional industries, Katie founded twelveNYC in 2005 and hasn’t looked back since.
Hailing from the Midwest, Katie Conovitz headed to New York after college to launch her career in the Bloomingdale's buying office. It wasn’t long before Katie took the city by storm, and after gaining experience in the fashion, retail and promotional industries, Katie founded twelveNYC in 2005. Inspired by her creative, hard-working parents, as well as influences from fashion, travel and design, Katie built twelveNYC through determination, passion and sheer talent. Now, living in DUMBO, she spearheads a diverse team with over four decades of combined experience in the design, marketing, editorial, importing, manufacturing and branding industries. Yet, despite the impressive list of clients she’s worked with over the years, Katie’s toughest clients are her four children, who are a constant presence in twelveNYC’s Brooklyn office and a continual source of joy for her.
“There’s a driving metaphor I like to make: Stay in your lane. Be authentic. Don’t veer left or right. Drive fast. We cannot be everything to everybody, but we hit our stride the moment we found our lane and we haven’t looked back since.”
Carol Bale considers herself the “central station” for twelveNYC, acting as a source of support and guidance for the entire team.
Her background in the financial sector, coupled with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude and unerring loyalty, makes Carol an invaluable asset to twelveNYC. Prior to her current role, Carol spent more than a decade at SuttonBrook Capital Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund, where she played an instrumental role in growing the fund, doing everything from developing infrastructure to being a senior trader to helping run the day to day operations. When she’s not helping to grow the twelveNYC business, Carol embraces the opportunity to hang out with her two grown sons, both artists, whom she calls “my greatest inspirations.”
Brandon is twelveNYC’s globetrotting production guru, as well as its master problem solver (“office duct tape,” he jokes).
Brandon oversees all logistics, allowing for the smooth flow of merchandise from factory to customer. A travel lover who was born in New York and raised in Los Angeles, Brandon jumps at the chance to snowboard in Telluride, eat Tex-Mex in Austin or do just about anything on the West Coast. When he’s not managing operations between twelveNYC’s three global offices, Brandon can be found hanging with his and Katie’s four kids, planning his next trip, riding his bike through traffic in NYC, or leading the pack at Soulcycle.
Brooke is twelveNYC’s resident trend spotter, always with her pulse on the market, which stems from her 15+ years’ experience as a fashion and accessories editor at Elle and Cosmopolitan magazines.
Brooke Lucks has made her mark directing the creative vision at twelveNYC, keeping the company's aesthetic fresh, consistent and on-brand. Brooke’s most recent role as the Accessories Director of Cosmopolitan for eight years afforded her the incredible chance to travel to fashion shows around the world, pinpointing the latest trends and forging incredible relationships in the market. As Creative Director, Brooke scours trade shows domestically and abroad, pounding the pavement looking for the ‘next big thing’ that inspires her. She spends her days translating market and runway trends into on-trend promotional merchandise and lifestyle accessories for our private label collections in ways that are surprising, creative and innovative– always demonstrating her deep understanding of the global retail marketplace. Brooke has lived in Brooklyn for the last twelve years where she claims she’s never going to leave. She lives in Cobble Hill with her husband, son, Braeden, and daughter, Gemma.

Cally embraces the opportunity to tell compelling, creative stories through product for twelveNYC’s clients, developing client relationships into successful partnerships. She may not be in Kansas anymore, but Cally attributes her Midwestern upbringing to her determination and dedication, as well as her appreciation for all of New York’s unique nuances. Her young son keeps her active and inspired outside of the office, and when Cally does find free time, she’s probably plotting out her next craft project. Cally has a BS in Fashion Marketing and Management from Stephens College and an MA in Fashion Studies from Parsons/The New School of Design.
twelveNYC’s Art Director, Kristen Long, applies a creative touch – and often, her gift for illustration – to every project that comes her way.
A student of drawing and painting, Kristen has experience in just about everything that involves art, including working in art gallery world and even briefly as a cake decorator (but that’s a whole other story). In her role at twelveNYC, Kristen oversees all artwork, packaging design, and internal photo shoots for the company. She never fails to provide design inspiration during the ideation of new projects and is continually collaborating with the team on the design direction of internal branding projects and marketing materials. Prior to joining twelveNYC, Kristen worked for design-centric brands including Moleskine, Nordstom, Brooklyn Magazine, and Shutterfly. When she’s not traveling the globe in search of adventure, Kristen can be found working on her own stationary line, which she runs with her husband out of their studio in Astoria, Queens.
